I’m headed out of the country this coming week with Debbie and eventually meeting up with the kids for an extended trip so I won’t be writing again for a while. Before we depart, I am sending this one last message to you for the year.
So much of what is going on now is causing a great deal of anxiety and fear. Many of us are rightfully scared about the future and the current state of affairs. My family is in that same boat. Rightfully so.
Every day we are bombarded with these article headlines:

It is quite overwhelming to see these daily but even more so all together like this. To keep myself sane and maintain a spark of hope and optimism I try to stay focused on what is right in front of me. I have a wonderful loving family. Everyone is healthy and doing well. Here we are at Thanksgiving.
And we have a great deal for which to be grateful and thankful. I try to see the beauty in each day and what is right in front of me in the moment.
Some of you might have seen my photos on Facebook from a kayaking trip this fall to the island of Crete in Greece with Zack.
It was spectacular. In the small town of Matala, which people there call the “hippie place” and is pictured above, they have a saying:
Today is Life…Tomorrow Never Comes
And that’s what I am focusing upon. Living each day at a time and appreciating all that’s good each day.

For sure, climate consequences are gonna get worse. But we humans are a creative and innovative bunch. There’s room for optimism and faith that we can survive and prosper in the future that is coming day by day. But we’re going to have to work hard to transition to a new reality that is sustainable for humans and civilization.
I’ll be continuing to work hard to achieve this and I hope you will too.
In the meantime, have a wonderful holiday season. Hug your loved ones and friends every chance you get. Try to stay positive, have some fun. And plan on hearing more from me in 2025 as I attempt to keep you informed on so many issues that are of importance to the future we are creating!
